Our Apprenticeship Program is a total of 3 ½ years, 6 months probation and 6 forty hour weeks a year.
Apprentices receive training in all segments of the industry such as, Structural Steel Erection, Qualified Rigger, Qualified Signalman, Architectural & Ornamental, Reinforcing Concrete, Pre-Engineered Metal Building Systems and Oxy-Fuel Cutting.

SAFETY TRAINING & JOURNEYMAN UPGRADING
OSHA Construction Safety regulations ( OSHA 10hr & OSHA 30hr), 1st Aid & CPR, Foreman Training, MSHA Training and Scaffold User/ Erector & Dismantler.

ACCREDETED WELD TESTING FACILITY
Our weld shop is an Accredited Testing Facility through the AWS (American Welding Society) which is open 5 days a week for weld testing of our Apprentices and Journeyman upgrading. We have a CWI on staff full time to meet the needs of our contractors.
Local 549’s Apprenticeship Program trains men and women to become highly productive craftsmen in all phases of the Ironworking industry.
